Sole Mates is an annual initiative by Prepare2Fly that brings our communities together to provide children with brand-new shoes; helping them start the school year with confidence, dignity, and support.
Now serving both Houston and Trinity Counties, we reach across 9 school districts and impact nearly 300 students each year.

The History of Soul Mates
Sole Mates is an annual initiative by Prepare2Fly that partners with community members to provide children with the shoes they need to start the school year with confidence. Originally founded in Alvin, TX, by Regina Stredic—known for her unwavering dedication to helping children.
The program has now expanded into Houston County under the leadership of Tricia Hensley and Prepare2Fly. The inspiration for Sole Mates came from a high school student wearing shoes that were barely holding together, igniting a vision to address the growing need for proper footwear among children in our communities.
